Ms. Alexandra - Year 9 Teacher

Alexandra Moreno Hemming is from Colombia and has been working with the International Community School since 2002. She has a degree in Modern Foreign Languages (English, Spanish and French) and a master in International Business. She believes that taking on new experiences within different countries, cultures and schools and working with other curriculum has helped to make her a more flexible and perceptive person.

She loves cooking, dancing and traveling around the world. Her commitment lies in the success of her students.

I have been in ICS for almost one month. The school seems to be interesting and fun. I found some friends that are really friendly. The atmosphere in the school is good and I am enjoying it. Community and service is different in Russia . In my country schools don’t have lunch, like we do here, because there we study from four to six hours, which isn’t much school time.

I’ve been in ICS for two years. In yr 8 and yr 9. In this time I have improved my English and found new friends. I learned how to speak Spanish.

Some teachers have introduced new things to me. The teachers are quite friendly, but have their eye caught on the discipline policy. My best subject in this school would probably be Spanish or Math. I like the school because it’s very small and everyone gets to know something about each other. There is a new policy introduced in the school called Community Service, in this policy we are supposed to do something about keeping the environment clean. I like the school trips to the country in Bawdsey, which gives us a lot of time for fun and activities; we don’t get to do this in the big city.

I have been in ICS for 2 years. I have made many friends. I think all the teachers are nice and friendly. The atmosphere in the school is very good because most people are very friendly. I think the community and service is good because I learnt how to take more responsibilities. My old school in Hungary was very big so being in a small school like ICS is a big change. Great Success!

This is my first year in ICS. In the time that I have spent at this school I have learnt many things and made friends. I have improved in speaking Spanish and enjoy the lessons. My favourite lesson in ICS is sports. All the teachers are very friendly. My favourite part of the school year so far was Bawdsey. This school year there was something new which was Community and Service. In France , community and service is usually viewed as a punishment for when one does something bad. In ICS, for community and service we are supposed to learn how to help others and contribute to the community.
