Ms Fatima - Year 5 Teacher

Hello there! My name is Fatema Paretha and I am the Year 5 Class Teacher at ICS. I enjoy travelling and learning about different cultures.  I have lived in countries such as Canada, Japan, Tanzania and India and travelled to many others like Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Thailand, Singapore, Kenya and lots more!

Year 5's First Unit of Inquiry:
OUR PLANET, OUR RESPONSIBILITY:

Our Unit of Inquiry for this half term will see the children becoming eco-warriors and learning all about new green energy technologies such as wind, wave, water and solar power! 

The children will enjoy trips to the Acorn House Restaurant - billed as the most eco friendly restaurant in the UK and the IMAX theatre to see 'Forces of Nature'.  They will aslo see 'An Inconvenient Truth' and go to Waitrose supermarket to buy an organic, healthy lunch!

The end of unit assessment will be to design 'the world's most eco-friendly car or house'. 

The learning points covered in this unit will be fostered throughout the year, with weekly activities like composting and recycling of resources used in school.
