Ms. Shelby - Year 1 Teacher

Hello!  My name is Ms. Shelby and I’m from the U.S.A.  I have a BS. in Speech and Language Therapy and certification to teach children ages 3 through 8.  I have worked with children all over the USA from California, Ohio, North Carolina and New York City.  This is my first time living abroad and I am so excited to be apart of the ICS community here in London!

The children in Year 1 are already hard at work making fast friends and settling into the new school year.  Our first unit of inquiry focuses on communities.  First, we will look at our classroom as a community and learn how we can work together to establish a safe and caring learning environment.   Next, we will study our wider school community.  We will learn about the different people and places that make up ICS and the unique role that each plays in our daily lives.  Finally, we will get out and explore some of the local parks, businesses and services that the greater London community has to offer.
